Digital identity company Daon has a partnership with An Post, Ireland’s top mails, parcels, logistics, and financial services company, to provide customers with a “convenient” onboarding experience.
In a press release, Daon describes itself as a Digital Identity Trust company that “enables market-leading organizations worldwide to easily and accurately proof, verify, authenticate, and secure customer identities at every trust point across the entire customer lifecycle.” It claims to use “industry-leading identity proofing and biometric authentication technologies,” which ensure “ that customer identities are accurately verified, safely secured, and easily recovered.”
An Post will leverage Daon® IdentityX® platform to provide new customers with a seamless and secure registration through the An Post Money app. Registration can also be done in-person at Post Offices.
“An Post continues to provide customer benefits from innovative technology, both in person within its post offices, and within its digital channels. Using our technology, An Post can provide a frictionless but highly secure customer registration experience,” said Clive Bourke, President of EMEA and APAC at Daon. “Together with An Post, we’re making sure the benefits of our identity assurance technologies enable more banking customers to register safely and securely.”
Registration requires a customer to take photos of their driver’s license or passport and take a selfie. Daon’s platform will match the selfie to the photo on the identification document.
